back home

tis the day before christmas and i am back from san francisco and glad to be here. the punch line in san francisco is my favorite comedy club and they did not disappoint me, a couple of the shows were just magical.

i am off to play some poker because at this time i am still in the hole for december, albeit not by much, but in the hole and we can't have that.......

did not get as much feedback from the obama post as i thought i would and some were just being argumentative with posts about secret societies and how obama was going to just be another in the long line of warmongers. few, if any, gave me their choice and their reasons but it is still early in the season (so to speak).

the one game that all the experts agreed on was boise state vs. e. carolina and they ALL SAID BOISE STATE WAS GOING TO CREAM THE PANTHERS! dey were wrong.

i hope you are wrong and we shall see. i don't know if he is going to get the nomination but if he does and if he gets elected, i believe he will bring a new day to our country.

your point seems to be that all of them are corrupt and there is no hope whatsoever in the political process. it is the only process we have short of armed revolution and that aint going to happen.

i, on the other hand, believe that somehow or another, this country will manage to muddle through and eventually become that country that we could be, a shining beacon for the world. i don't believe we are doomed but i do believe we have many, many problems that will require sacrifice and dedication to overcome. we have, in the past, risen to the occasion and, i believe, we can do so again.

the only one not corrupt is ron paul.for once somebody is telling it like it is: legalize all drugs and bring all the troops back home and that includes Korea.i don't want to live in a shining beacon for the world, because it's too stressful. i want to live in a normal place.
may god bless you and merry xmas

Three weeks ago Obama had a very planned and publicized meeting with NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg was a life long Democrat, who turned Republican in 2001.

Obama is to the right of all others in the Democratic field, including Hillary. His contributors include financial firms which openly want to privatize Social Security. His hedge fund connections are well established. His anti-war pose is a sham; he campaigned for pro-Israel hawk Lieberman against anti-war Democratic challenger Ned Lamont in '06. If he really was anti-war there's no way he would have done that.

If you think Obama is a progressive you have some homework to do. If he loses the nomination, don't be surprised if some very deep pockets get behind him and Bloomberg to challenge Democrat and Republican hegemony with the "independence" of pure, unaffiliated oligarchy. If he wins the White House, don't be surprised when Social Security is privatized, the universal health care plan becomes a mere sales branch of the biggest pharmaceutical companies, and please don't think it's news when Obama starts unilaterally bombing the hell out of Pakistan.

pan,

you are right! if he campaigned for lieberman in 06, he could not possibly be anti-war. if that is so, i will drop my affliation in a moment. i have been wrong before. your post is the very first one which had some kind of "proof" to present, for which i am grateful.

the thing about social security being privatized under obama would mean that he is the sneakest, most corrupt one ever if he did that. and for "unilaterally bombing" pakistan that is putting this man even worse than bush. is that what you are saying? he is a sham and a fraud and an elephant in a donkey's clothing?

as for ron paul, i have said all along that he was the only one telling the unvarnished truth but he has no chance of getting the republican nomination. FOR THAT VERY REASON. hell, if he were a democrat, he might be the nominee. ain't that weird?

more to pan,

actually what obama said about pakistan was that if we had "certifiable intelligence" of just where obl was in pakistan that he would bomb that area.

now, while the republicans and the other democrats refuse to say anything at all about pakistan, we have bhutto assassinated and we are back to square one with no democracy in pakistan, a military dictatorship holding atomic weapons (3-7 of them) and the country in chaos and osamba bin laden still loose, any thoughts? at least obama had the courage to call 'em as he saw 'em. pakistan is not our ally. pakistan is not on the side of democracy. pakistan is hiding obl and helping the taliban. just what do you, pan, suggest that the next president do? i say "next" because the great decider is not going to do a fucking thing. shall we cuddle up to them some more?

i wouldn't necessarily bomb pakistan but i would be in favor of a sudden invasion of those northern territories if we had credible intelligence that obl was there. i would tell the pakistani military to stand down and keep out of the way. we get obl and we deal a very heavy blow to al kayda. (i know that is not how it is spelled, it's a joke, the name cannot be spelled in english).

once again, since you are so adament about obama's ideas what would you do?
