up in reno

am in reno working at catch a rising star performing for tourists and playing poker against the locals. both are going well. hopefully, my gay posse will show up as they do almost every time i am up here.

someone send me a very interesting post about how obama supporters are saying they would not support senator clinton if she does, indeed, get the nomination. that is the height of stupidity, we cannot afford another 4 years of bush economics and bush wars and that is senator mc cain intends to give us. it would seem to me that clinton supporters should vote for senator obama if he is nominated and obama supporters should go happily to polls to vote for senator clinton if that is how it comes out. the obama supporters, of which i am one, cannot take the position that it is he or no one. hillary clinton is an excellent candidate and will make an excellent president.

next week i am going to hilton head s.c. with a couple of friends to play some golf and look at locations for a comedy club that they are considering opening. i told them that i don't know if this is a good time to start a new business what with the economy such as it is right now but john biddle is the best resort area comedy club promoter in the country and if anyone can pull it off it would be he. if they do it i will have another club to play multiple times per year and get in some good gold while i am at it.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT:

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create depressions and governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than Nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Iranians and North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach fourth graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of New York, Boston, San Francisco, or Portland do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn esteem.

11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make 'The Passion of the Christ' for financial gain only.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, and Alexander G. Bell.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge and not enough money was spent on its programs.

17. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.

18. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and in a normal marriage.

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying transvestites in drag should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You have to believe that the funding of the Democratic Party by the Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States.

21. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right-wing conspiracy.

22. You have to believe that it's OK to give Federal workers the day off on Christmas Day but it's not OK to say 'Merry Christmas.'

And that is why I am not a Democrat and will be supporting John McCain!

The problem I have with voting is that the corporate-crafted and owned candidates Obama, Clinton and McCain do not represent my values.

I have seen you act a few times down the years and I am shocked to find out that you are praising the virtues of still another corporate-created candidate called Obama.

My research shows that Obama's backers are shady financial institutions responsible for the subprime mortgage fraud, the nuclear energy faction and Rupert Murdoch himself.

Obama does not float my boat the way he does yours and I cannot in all honesty keep pulling the lever for the lesser of evils all my life. He has failed to convince me that change, hope and unity are enough to run on. I'd like to hear about his health care plan, so far very weak; I'd like him to pledge no more wars and I'd like to ask him why he voted to re-new the patriot act.

But he's right about one thing in that we need change and the best thing would be if we had some genuine non-corporate candidates running, for a change.

"Go away, go away".

"Bring it on, bring it on."

Make up your mind, Make up your mind.

I assume you are still infatuated with Obama. The other day I was trying to remember where I had seen that vacuous smile before, and then it came to me- The Manchurian Candidate!

one at time here: pow pete. no, that is not what it takes to be a democrat. and the list you sent, you did not write, seen it before. a little right wing attempt at humor via distorting facts and in some cases making them up. for your information:

capitol punishment is taking a life. i don't think life begins at conception. (is jacking off murder in your eyes?)

in many cases, government policy creates recessions as it has in this one.

guns in the hands of criminals are more dangerous than the "communist north koreans" p.s. what about the communist chinese that we do business with, borrow money from, ship our jobs to, etc, etc? are they dangerous to us?

homosexuality is normal to homosexuals. if you think people choose to be homosexual then you are either a. completely uninformed or b. lacking in basic logical thinking.

the only "conservative" i believe belongs in jail is george w. bush for leading us into an immoral and illegal war against a country that had never done anything to us and as a "stated" reason for sacrificing american and iraqi lives he told lie after lie after lie. somehow, and it could just be me, but lying about reasons for war is much more grevious than lying about a blow job. but then again, i am a democrat and god knows, that a good conservative such as yourself can find it in your heart to forgive george, hell, he only costs us lives, our honor and most of our treasury.

so, pow. pete, i won't take apart the others of your little copied tirade (hey, at least, obamous writes her own stuff) go back to listening to anne and rush.

to anon. there are times when i feel that all is lost and all we get is politicians who are out for themselves and their corporate backers and fuck the rest of us. i truly believe that senator obama is not one of those. i hope i am right and you are wrong. but, my brother (or sister) only time is going to tell. if he is not the guy in 08, then by the time "the guy (nonsexual)" comes along it may very well be too late for our young republic.

Requirements to be a good neo-con:

1.You have to believe that abortion is a mortal sin, but refuse to support education and birth control that would reduce abortions.

2. You have to believe that businesses won't ever commit fraud to increase their profits.

3. (I'm doing this on my own, and can't figure out a comeback for all of these)

4. You have to believe that if it is erotic, it can't be art, it must be porn, unless it is really old.

5. You have to believe that humans can't harm the environment.

6. You have to believe that homosexuality is a contagious disease, and be afraid of catching it.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus was sent by God to deal with sinners.

8. You have to believe that evolution is "just a theory" and therefore not fit to be taught in public schools.

10. You have to believe that being born to power and privilege is worth esteem.

11. You have to believe Christian activities are always altruistic, and never for secondary gain.

12. You have to believe freedom of religion is fine, as long as the religion is Judeo-Christian and not too different than yours.

13. You have to believe that the military budget doesn't count, and it is OK to borrow the country into poverty as long as the war is against towelheads, and it is better to spend borrowed money than taxed money.

14. You have to believe that Marten Luther King doesn't deserve a place in American history.

15. You have to believe that racism no longer exists, and if only "those people" would just quit being lazy everything would be solved.

16. You have to believe that corporations will always act in the best interests of consumers.

17. You have to believe lying about the reasons to invade another country is more important than lying about a blow job.

18. You have to believe that George W. was elected on his own merits, not because of family connections.

19. You have to believe that homosexuals have a secret agenda beyond being left alone about their sex lives, but it is OK to spend government money on one particular religion.

20. You have to believe that the funding of the Republican Party by big corporations is somehow in the best interest to the United States.

21. You have to believe that the message that started this is insightful.

22. You have to believe that it is OK that Easter and Christmas are legitimate days off, but someone who wants a day off to celebrate their religions observances just wants extra holidays.

Clinton and Obama are nearly the last people I'd vote for (only Huckabee would be less likely to get my vote) but I still find your list childish and inaccurate.
