TRUE COLORS

this is section 8 of the administration plan to save the economy and bail out the rich. if these words do not scare you then you are beyond any reason, any intelligence, any love of country, any grasp of language or right and wrong. i quote:

DECISIONS BY THE SECRETARY PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF THIS ACT ARE NONE-REVIEWABLE AND COMMITED TO AGENCY DISCRETION AND MAY NOT BE REVIEWED BY ANY COURT OF LAW OR ANY ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCY.

where is the press on this?

where are you on this?

Obama kept talking about change and then he picked Biden, a political dinosaur, to be his running mate. He could have picked Hillary and slammed the door on the Republicans, but no, apparently he was too arrogant.

McCain played it brilliantly by then selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate. She is hot and promises to become America’s sweetheart. Now he will continue to pull ahead of Obama in the polls, as America learns just how shallow and vacuous Obama really is.

Those “elegant speeches” of his will be seen for what they really are- empty rhetoric. McCain is far and away the better choice; indeed, it is remarkable how well he has done given how unpopular the current administration is. This simply reflects the inferiority of Obama as a presidential candidate. If he is the best the Democrats can come up with, they deserve to lose in November.

To put it simply, Johnny Mac’s gonna kick Obama’s butt!

I don't know about that, but to Ron's point. Let's not forget that the liberals control both the House and Senate. Where are they on this?

Bush can't do much of anything without them so you can share the blame. Or can you?

on the flip side of that, if we elect john mc cain we will get exactly what we deserve..an old angry man who has no grasp of economics and whose response to any international "situation" is war first, talk later. even george will, in editorial yesterday is saying that johnny mac will make a very, very bad president. if you liked george, you are going love john.

as for palin, she should fit right in since she seems unable to tell the truth about anything from the famous bridge to nowhere (she was for it) to taxes (she raised them) to troopergate (his trip was authorized) to the role of her treasonous husband (he acts as her de facto chief of staff). brilliant choice. a perfect rebulican, pretty, charismatic and rotten to the core.

time will tell which of us is right.

and, "rudy", this kind of post i will allow to stay up. keep away from personal attacks and lies on and about me and you can rant all you want about any subject.

joe, yes, you are right to a degree. though the democrats have controlled congress for the last two years they were stymied on almost every front by republican foot dragging and obstructionalism. a problem of this size does not come from one or two or three years of mismanagement but from long term bad decisions.

are the democrats blameless? fuck no. a good number of them are nothing but political hacks as are their republican comrades.

throw all the bastards out would be a good first step towards re-
sponsible government.

This sort of thing is an example of a nearly insoluble problem of a representative democracy, at least as big as ours--The people willing to jump through the hoops to become part of the government aren't the ones who believe in the Tenth Amendment.

A principled legislator would not vote for any bill with this clause, no matter which of his favorite causes get voted for in return.
