everything is just hunky dory.
"in the 21st century nations do not invade other nations." george w. bush
"in the 21st century nations do not invade other nations." john mc cain
i wonder why i call him "mc same."
word for word. amazing.
it also amazes me that anyone can look at what is going on in america can possibly think that things are going okay and yet that is what i was told by the l.a. entertainment manager in another email. that he likes america the way it is. i am just speechless, i don't know what to say to him so i just dropped the discussion. there is not a day when hundreds, if not thousands, of american workers are laid off. each lay off creates more economical instability and leads, of course, to more lay offs because there are hundreds, if not thousands, more people that day who cannot buy things or pay their bills. this is happening every day. and every day our politicians and so called leaders do nothing, say nothing and apparently know nothing. we prop up failing banks and wall street firms but the working man and woman seems to be the forgotten part of the equation. george is watching the olympics and then going on vacation and all seems to be at a dead stop waiting for the election. whoever the next president is he is going to be faced with problems unequaled since the great depression of the 30's.
furthermore, the american recession seems to be spreading to other parts of the world which will affect our one bright economic spot, exports.
and every day, john mc cain, talks about "security", terrorism, threats, war, bombs and other things dear to his heart but hardly ever mentions that millions of americans are out of work. obama seems to be aware of the economic situation but does not project any sense of urgency about it. the employed americans have to be living in fear that they are next; we are such in inter-related economy that only the very, very rich are immune from the distinct possibility of personal bankrupcty. and the beat goes on.
(mc cain did have one commercial out that said, "i know you are worse off than you were 4 years ago." but, guess what? his 'people' pulled it off the air)
oh well, see you at the barricades.

I hold dearly onto the idea that things can change, and that we can replace all the motherfuckers with... well, with other motherfuckers, probably, but at least more REASONABLE motherfuckers. Let's not get nuts, here.
This reviewer would also like to comment on the frequent comparisons that have been made over the years between Ron Shock and Mark Twain.
They both told stories, and...that’s about where the comparison ends.
When Mark Twain went on his lecture tours, he didn’t merely repeat the same stories over and over. There was a beautiful philosophy of life behind his stories, unlike Shock, who merely seems intent on putting people down.
Indeed, Mark Twain would never have wasted his time repeating “van seats” and similar tiresome tales. And he certainly wouldn’t have had to stoop to reminding his listeners that he was a great storyteller, at least in his own mind. Of course this would have been entirely unnecessary for him, because he actually had an epic talent. Those who do not have real talent are constantly having to sell themselves, and we see this throughout Shock’s typical routines.
There aren’t a whole lot of comedians in this country who have the gall to compare themselves with Mark Twain. And for what it’s worth, I can’t even imagine Mark Twain coming out and ranting euphorically over any politician, whereas such ramblings are frequently found in the writings of Shock. So please don’t insult the legacy of Mark Twain by claiming that the two of you are somehow kindred spirits.
you know, rudy (ew, if you will) but i won't put your real name out here, you are getting a little tiresome. first of all you lie. you weren't at any shows of mine in the last 4 years. second of all, i have never compared myself to mark twain, much better critics than you have. "picture mark twain if mark twain got stoned" guy richardson, reno gazette. "looks like johnathon pierce, sounds like jimmy stewart and has the comedic timing of jack benny and tells stories reminding one of mark twain." variety. i have dozens of great reviews from critics at major papers and who have the courage to sign their own name.
no two shows of mine are ever the same, ask someone who actually has seen them.
you are bitter because you are out of work and no one will hire you as a comic because ... well maybe because you are not any good.
you gave yourself away with the comment about how i talk bad about women and then bring up my martial history but what you leave out is a. i left those women and b. i am friends with all my exes.
you insult yourself with your pitiful little rants against me on this blog. you have neither the courage to sign your own name nor the integerty to tell the truth. you make stuff up and post it as truth.
you are not a reviewer, you are a bitter old woman who has failed at everything you have ever done. you come close but then your own inability to get along with others causes you to crash. then you make excuses. it pains you to see me being popular, it pains you to think that people actually read me, it pains you that i still get sold out crowds, it pains you to see my schedule full while yours has been empty for years.
you have the nerve to borrow money from me and not pay it back and then come on my blog and badmouth me with lies.
it also must pain you that you have never written any routine that has any staying power. your act was all old jokes...none of which did you write.
"this reviewer". yeah right.
as far as "van seats" goes, how many of your routines got requests from the audience? usually the requests you got from audiences was "get off the stage."
"this bitter old loser" would be a much better title for you. here's a suggestion...get a life.
i have left your comments up (under all your different names) but from here on out, i am going to delete you. i have argued with you for the past 8 years and i am done with you. you add nothing to any discussion and you spend your precious time (being out of work and all) attacking me. while you are in the process of getting a life go ahead and get a job as well, surely by now, you are out of friends who will support you.
have a good day.
