poker,popes and plots

my winning streak came to halt yesterday but i only lost 120 dollars, which is, i might add, the amount i always buy in for....in a 1-2 no limit game, the max buy in is 200 and minimum is 100. i use the 120 figure because it gives me enough ammo, but at the same time, limits my possible loss to that figure. since most of my wins are more than that, any given loss is less than most wins and that is a psychological advantage to my mind set.

for those of you who asked about the books on the kennedy assassination may i recommend CROSSFIRE THE PLOT THAT KILLED KENNEDY. author is jim marrs. this book is the one that oliver stone used as a reference and draws from many of the other published works.

pope benedict XVI obviously is either
a. an idiot,
b. a historical revisionist or
c. a calculating liar and propogandist.

his remarks that the native peoples of south america were "silently longing for christ and were seeking god without knowing it" giving that as an excuse for the mass murders, dare i say 'genocide' , of millions of south, central and north american indians is beyond comprehension. that is the same kind of thinking behind our invasion of iraq and the killing (murder?) of hundreds of thousands of iraqi civilians. remember "they will be throwing roses at the feet of our soldiers" comments by bush and cheney? the iraqis were secretly longing to be blown up by american bombs in shock and awe.

the world has gone mad.
i'm going to go play poker.

it's a beautiful day in vegas, baby.

i think some tourists are secretly longing to give me their money.

Marrs has been quoted in most of those stories lately that have questioned the lone gunman theory.

You know the joke about the man who always wanted to meet the pope, so he buys a very expensive set of new clothes and travels to the Vatican? And then he's standing among the thousands of admirers and the popemobile suddenly stops, the pope gets out, and walks over to an old man who is standing right next to him, who is dressed in pathetic soiled rags, and whispers something in the old man's ear? And then he offers to trade his new expensive clothes for the rags, which he then wears the next day, and the popemobile again stops and the pope finally comes over to him and whispers in his ear, "Didn't I tell you yesterday to GET THE F*** OUT OF HERE?"

Hey Ron! Great BLOG.. Sure as hell do miss you coming out to Colorado Springs. Me and a buddy of mine would see you everytime you were in town. You may remember some of our chats, I'm a small person in a wheelchair.. I just played one of your CD's yesterday for a few friends and we laughed our ass off. I don't get to Vegas enough but I will keep checking your schedule to see if you're playing when I'm there.

Great news about Rhonda man.. Couldn't be happier the way things have turned around brother.

hey darell, of course i remember you! i also miss coming to the springs because i ALWAYS had great shows and great times. larry and i had a parting of ways over some little coke-head waitress who accused me of calling her a whore which, of course, i didn't. damnest thing, lose one of my favorite gigs over that.

thanks for the nice words about rhonda and if you are ever in vegas give me a ring, i am in the book. nobody ever thinks to look there. would be nice to see you again.

You know me and a couple of friends seriously thought about buying the club in the Springs from Jeff. Man, wish we would have. Another of lifes worthless shouldda wouldda couldda's.

Hey, I also have the poker bug big time... Infact playing an online right now. It sounds like you and I have a lot of the same mindset about playing.. not trying to win a tournament on every hand but play each hand with control. When I am in Vegas would LOVE to get you in a game.

hey darell,

buy the damn club and bring me back. if that won't work, try getting several people to talk to larry about having me back.

i am off to play today at mandalay bay. i am not a tourny player playing in ring games only. i agree with mike caro about tournaments; if i beat a thousand other people and end up with all the money why do i have to share it with 150 people. the tourn.s are structured, you play to survive and not to win. that is a different mindset than ring games. i know millions love the tournament idea and more power to them but it is not for me except for once in a blue moon or so.
